Florentine Iris by Garrett Scott, KSU CAED AIAS

On September 23, 2026, the Sketch-n-Sip series continues at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Inspired by the works of KSU CAED student, Garret Scott, during his study abroad program in Florence, Italy, we’ll be meditating on various plant cultures through an intentional drawing session.

The evening will begin in the museum’s atrium, designed by internationally renowned architect Rafael Viñoly. There, Scott will present Porosity, a student housing project exploring how architecture, vegetation, public space, circulation, and everyday student life can come together within Florence’s dense urban fabric. He will also share sketches developed while studying the city firsthand, from architectural details and interiors to streets, buildings, and Florentine vegetation.

In addition, guests will also enjoy a short museum tour curated by Peter Dobbins, a regular Cleveland Museum of Art contributor, featuring several works that connect to themes in Garrett’s studies in Florence.
