2023 Lunch ‘n Learn Series: Geotechnical Engineering Reports

This presentation will provide a general overview of geotechnical engineering and the subsurface investigation process with a specific focus on how to best understand and use the information provided in your final Geotechnical Report.  The presentation will also demonstrate how to establish an effective geotechnical engineering field exploration scope of work and will help you interpret construction recommendations, remedial measures, geotechnical analyses, groundwater issues, and geological hazards.

 LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • How to best develop your request for proposal and scope of work to meet your anticipated project needs, including project use, site considerations, etc.

  • Understanding of the geotechnical investigation process and how to provide the best information related to your project development.

  • How to best understand typical sections within your geotechnical engineering report, interpret recommendations, and identify “red flags” that will impact the design and construction of the project.

  • Understanding of the role of the geotechnical engineer during the plan review and construction stages.
