A Message from our Chapter’s President

As I initially touched upon during our 2023 Design Awards event and reiterated during our Board of Directors Annual Retreat in December, my main objective as AIA Cleveland’s 2024 President is for our chapter to continue to add value and be a catalyst for INSPIRATION for all our members, associates, and partners.

In seeking to uplift our members and our profession to inspire our communities through the power of architecture, we will continue our trajectory of becoming a great chapter.    Unquestionably, I believe that we are very good chapter, and we are authentically and rigorously striving for excellence.  Our 2023 Year In Review demonstrates the Board’s commitment, generosity, and passion to reach and inspire our architecture community.  We are excited to have grown to 550 members and are enthusiastically looking forward to connecting with you this year through our various committee programs, lectures, and events.  Together we can develop successful opportunities to advance and encourage your career, our chapter, and elevate the profession.  I will seek to conscientiously strengthen our effective strategies and introduce new initiatives that resonate with the chapter.

Over the course of two days our board earnestly embraced the challenge of strengthening our connectivity, among our membership and with the Cleveland / Northeast Ohio community at large.  Our first 2024 collaborative event with Kent State University and hosted by the Cleveland Foundation discussed how to “jointly add value to the discipline, discourse, delivery, and diversity of what we do to advance the built environment and human condition” was well attended and received.

I am excited and look forward to serving our architectural and design community as AIA Cleveland President for 2024

W. Daniel Bickerstaff, II, AIA
